Measuring in Automatically Reconstructed 3D Models

چکیده
In this paper a system for the 3D documentation of a scene within an absolute coordinate system is presented. It follows the idea of structure-frommotion and was designed to fit well into the standard archaeological documentation process. It only requires equipment that is already present at an excavation site, namely a digital camera and a total station. Besides that, data that is surveyed during the archaeological documentation process is reused to transform the model into the geo-referenced coordinate system used at the site. The paper discusses possible sources of error that influence the accuracy of reconstructed models in general. The achieved measuring accuracies are evaluated on synthetic as well as real data.

3D Models Recognition in Fourier Domain Using Compression of the Spherical Mesh up to the Models Surface
Representing 3D models in diverse fields have automatically paved the way of storing, indexing, classifying, and retrieving 3D objects. Classification and retrieval of 3D models demand that the 3D models represent in a way to capture the local and global shape specifications of the object. This requires establishing a 3D descriptor or signature that summarizes the pivotal shape properties of th...
متن کاملTo Express Required CT-Scan Resolution for Porosity and Saturation Calculations in Terms of Average Grain Sizes
Despite advancements in specifying 3D internal microstructure of reservoir rocks, identifying some sensitive phenomenons are still problematic particularly due to image resolution limitation. Discretization study on such CT-scan data always has encountered with such conflicts that the original data do not fully describe the real porous media. As an alternative attractive approach, one can recon...
متن کاملQuality Enhancement of Reconstructed 3D Models Using Coplanarity and Constraints
We present a process to improve the structural quality of automatically acquired architectural 3D models. Common architectural features like orientations of walls are exploited. The location of these features is extracted by using a probabilistic technique (RANSAC). The relationships among the features are automatically obtained by labelling them using a semantic net of an architectural scene. ...
متن کاملBuilding Reconstruction by Target Based Graph Matching on Incomplete Laser Data: Analysis and Limitations
With the increasing point densities provided by airborne laser scanner (ALS) data the requirements on derived products also increase. One major application of ALS data is to provide input for 3D city models. Modeling of roof faces, (3D) road and terrain surfaces can partially be done in an automated manner, although many such approaches are still in a development stage. Problems in automatic bu...
متن کاملStochastic reconstruction of carbon fiber paper gas diffusion layers of PEFCs: A comparative study
A 3D microstructure of the non-woven gas diffusion layers (GDLs) of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) is reconstructed using a stochastic method. For a commercial GDL, due to the planar orientation of the fibers in the GDL, 2D SEM image of the GDL surface is used to estimate the orientation of the carbon fibers in the domain. Two more microstructures with different fiber orientations are g...
